Follow-up from Day 1. Yesterday was the kick off to a world wide day of service. I think many of us embed service in our every day. So many of the acts of service I do is in secret, I don't go around telling others about it. In this challenge of #lighttheworld we are trying to be more like Jesus and act in loving ways. So I decided to share some of the things we have done and then share how it made us/me feel.
Yesterday I watched two children so the mom could go shopping for Christmas presents. My husband, two sons and myself shovelled for others. I loved seeing the three of them join the shovels (so they were 33 shovels wide) and plow those in needs drive ways. We had A LOT of snow fall yesterday. My husband woke early to drive my daughter to basketball tryouts so that I could get a few extra minutes of sleep (I may have stayed up late quilting!?!). I am grateful to have been served and to serve.
I haven't decided what I am going to do today. Will let you know tomorrow.
